Description
Used as early Theophrastus and Dioscorides, Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) is a native European annual herb. Its genus name, Euphrasia, is derived from the Greek 'Euphrosyne', one of the three Graces of Greek mythology meaning gladness, in reference to its beneficial properties. Traditional herbalists also note that its flower often resembles a bloodshot eye. It remains in high esteem among Western herbalists for its beneficial properties.
