The results certainly proved promising for the group of obese people but the question still lies in its effectiveness to those who are more or less physically fit than the obese standards. Although this argument makes the scientific studies about Hoodia a bit meager, it does not also prove that the diet pill is ineffective. It did work on a certain group of people, but it still need to be tested to other groups of the population.
Regarding safety issues, so far, there has been intense effort made to prove that Hoodia is a safe diet pill or supplement. It is not fair to safe that it has been proven to be a hundred per cent safe, but it is also not proven to be unsafe.
Unlike Chinese medicinal herbs which have had thousands of years of use to back-up and prove its claims, Hoodia is a more recent herbal remedy even to the African tribesman who used it before it became available to the modern market. The issue of its safety when used by pregnant women is also a gray area up to now which needs to be settled.

• Hoodia do aide in suppressing one's appetite
• Actual dosages of Hoodia needed to suppress one's appetite is much more than the recommended dosage of its manufacturers
• The use of Hoodia does not affect sugar levels and works effective with a balanced carbohydrate diet
• Hoodia is not effective in the suppression of hunger after a heavy work out
